DISTRIBUTION

This species is native to the temperate old world, globally distributed in Europe, West Asia, Pakistan and India. Within India, it has been recorded in Kashmir between an altitude range of 1500-2400 metres, Punjab, and Andhra Pradesh. It is said to be cultivated in Bihar, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh (Lahaul - Spiti : Rate, as an escape along agricultural fields. Jalma), Assam, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.
