Globally this species is distributed across Indo-Malesian region and SriLanka. Within India it is distributed in Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. This species is globally distributed in Indo-Malesia. Within India, it is found in the evergreen forests of Assam, Khasi and Jaintia hills, Bengal, and in western ghats from North Kanara southwards to Travancore, up to an altitude of 900 metres
