1. Abhyanga:

Ayurvedic massage involving long strokes on the body. Promotes circulation and nourishes the body tissues.

2. Asana:

Yoga exercise involving stretching and correction of body posture. This contributes to muscle tightening and spinal correction. Also helps bring about physical and mental calmness.

3. Avagaaham:

Body or limbs are immersed in specially formulated herbal oil. This will help to speed up the process of healing and helps in reducing inflammation.

4. Basti:

(part of panchkarma treatment) Ayurvedic enema which involves specially prepared oils, herbal concoctions and milk per perenium in order to detoxify, cleanse or supplement the lower part of the body.

5. Elakizhi:

Soothing music used for therapeutic reasons. Helps in restoring body harmony and imbalances leading to disease.

6. Gandoosham:

Herbal oils are sipped and held in the mouth for a few minutes. This helps restore health of teeth and gums.

7. Greeva Vasti:

A paste is made out of medicated oil and flour. This is then applied to the back of the neck, low back etc, to help lower localized radiating pain.(see also netra tarapan ).

8. Hridya Vasti:

Specially prepared herbal oils are pooled over the chest area for a certain period of time. It is used in respiratory and cardio vascular conditions.

9. Janu Vasti:

Specially prepared herbal oils are pooled over the knee area. Helps in improving circulation, arthritis, joint lubrication, sprains etc.

10. Karna Puranam:

A specially prepared herbal oil bath for the ears. . This helps with vertigo, tinnitus, jaw locks, headaches, earwax etc.  

11.Katti Vasti:

A specially prepared herbal oil bath for the lower back. Helps with osteoporosis, sciatica, lubrication and flexibility, deep relaxation etc.

12. Ksheera Dhoomam:

Specially medicated Cow’s milk fomentation applied to the affected area. Helps in conditions like facial paralysis, speech problems and other neurological disorders like asthma.

13. Kunjal Kriya:

Controlled vomiting involving drinking warm slightly salted water until the stomach is full. It is done early morning on an empty stomach. Helps in respiratory problems like asthma.

14. Lepanam:

Medicated herbal paste is applied on the affected of the body. Helpful for skin diseases, arthritis, various inflammatory conditions, etc.

15. Marma Chikista:

Ayurvedic acupressure and contour massage. Mainly for overall rejuvenation.

16. Nasya:

Part pachkarma therapy. It is the administration of herbal preparation into the nose. Helps in disorders relating to the brain, head and mind. Also helps with sinusitis.

17. Navara Kizhi:

Medicated paste applied and massaged all over body. Helps with joint aches, muscle tension, paralysis etc.

18. Netra Dhara:

Medicated paste applied over the eyes. This treatment is deeply relaxing for the eyes. Helps in eliminating fatique, improves eyesight and improves wrinkles.

19. Netra Tarpan:

Dough of black gram flour is used to make a well like feature around the eyes. Once the dough is set over the eyes, ghee is put in. This helps in a number of eye problems like conjunctivitis, squinting, burning, dryness, watery etc.

20. Pancha Karma:

Five main types of treatments are administered. They are vomiting; blood letting, laxatives, enema and nasal medication. These five treatments are designed to treat the whole person.

21. Patra panda Swedanam:

Process whereby either whole body or part of it is made to perspire using external application of medicinal boluses that are tied in a bag of cloth. Helps with back pain, sodalities, rheumatoid arthritis, paralysis etc.

22. Pinchu:

Cotton cloth is soaked in warm oil and then placed on the affected part of the body for a few minutes. The cloth is constantly kept warm by pouring warm oil over it. This therapy is very helpful for localized pain in muscles and joints. Also helps with deep relaxation.

23. Pizhichil:

Full body massage using cloth that has been dipped in specially prepared herbal oils. This therapy is helpful for joint conditions, paralysis, poor circulation and chronic muscle tension.

24. Pranayama:

This is a yogic breathing exercise aiming to provide maximum oxygen to the mind and body. It helps in optimum circulation and energy flow to all the vital organs of the body.

25. Purva Karma:

Approximately two week before starting the vigorous panch karma therapies, you may be given advice on how to prepare your body for therapies. Examples include dietary advice, exercise, breathing, walking etc.

26. Shiro Abhyanga:

Ayurvedic head, neck and shoulder massage. Deeply relaxes the mind, balaces the central nervous system, nourishes the scalp etc.

27. Shiro Dhara:

After Shiro Abyanga, a stream of warm oil is poured over your forehead as you lie down face up. Again deeply relaxing and bringing in a sense of calmness and serenity in you.

28. Shiro Vasti:

Warm herbal oil is kept over the head with the help of a special leather cap. Suitable for facial paralysis, headaches, insomnia etc.

29. Snehapanam:

A cleansing procedure. Medicated ghee is taken internally in a proportionately increased quantity for a period of 8- 10 days. Mainly helps with osteoarthritis, psoriasis, leukaemia etc.

30. Talam:

A herbal past of oil is applied to the scalp. Helps relieve insomnia, headaches, stress, improves eyesight etc.

31. Udvartana:

A herbal massage of either chick pea flour mixed aromatic herbs and a little bit of oil or just dry herbs mixed with oil. This mixture is gently massaged into the skin. This detoxifies and nourishes the body tissue. Aids in the the lymphatic flow drainage. Also nourishes the skin giving it a natural glow.

32. Uzhichil:

Oil massage done to the whole body for a period of 14 days taking a break on the 8th day allowing the body to detoxify. During this period the patient is also put on a specified diet recommended by the consultant. This detoxification programmed is very beneficial to rheumatoid arthritis, osteo arthritis, spondilitis, nerve weakness etc.

33. Vamanam:

This is a vomiting therapy. Patients suffering from chest infections, asthma, bronchitis, psoriasis, cold and coughs are recommended for this treatment. The vomiting will help eliminate excess mucus from the body. Proper attention and good skills required for this process.

34. Virechanam:

This is a strong laxative process. Helps to eliminate toxic and waste products from the intestine. Helps with skin diseases, worms, gout glaucoma, piles etc. not for everybody as it is a very strong therapy.

35. Gandharva Veda:

Soothing music used for therapeutic reasons. Helps in restoring body harmony and imbalances leading to disease.
